Top Five Essential Must-Haves for Your Next Cruise

Cruising is a passion of mine, yet I've occasionally overlooked these five essential items. Packing for a cruise involves considering numerous essentials to enhance your experience, but I'm eager to highlight the top five things I'll always ensure to bring along on future voyages.

Bathroom Organizer

Stay organized in those small cruise cabin bathrooms

Cruise cabins are not the biggest. An organizer for your bathroom essentials is a must-have.

When going on a cruise, one thing you may not think of is a bathroom organizer. However, it quickly becomes apparent that having one is essential. Whether you're traveling with just one other person or with a larger group, having a bathroom organizer can make your cruise experience much more convenient. With everything neatly organized and easily accessible, you won't have to search for your toiletries or leave them scattered around the bathroom. Keeping things tidy and clean will help you enjoy your trip without any unnecessary stress.

Jacket or Sweater for Cruise Nights

I never thought I would need this, leaving a warm climate and cruising to a warm climate. I was wrong.

Even if you're traveling to a warm destination during the summer, it's important to pack a jacket or sweater for your cruise. The temperature can drop significantly at night, and the cool ocean breeze can make it feel even colder. Whether you're walking around the deck or relaxing on your balcony, having a jacket or sweater will ensure that you stay comfortable throughout your trip. I love walking the upper deck late at night when the ship is empty, but it can get pretty cool.

Portable Fan

Perfect for the Cruise Cabin or Air Plane
USB Portable Fan

The cabins on a cruise ship don't have ceiling fans, which means you might need some extra air circulation to stay cool. Bringing a fan with you can make a big difference in

your comfort level. If you're on a newer cruise ship with USB ports, you can easily plug in a small fan and keep it right next to your bed. This will help you stay cool and sleep better, especially if you're someone who enjoys a little extra air movement.

Plus, if you are prone to motion sickness, a fan can really help.

Cruise Approved Power Strip

Because seriously you can't have enough outlets or USB ports.

When it comes to electrical outlets in cruise ship cabins, it's better to be prepared. While newer ships usually have multiple outlets and USB ports, older ships may only have one outlet available. To ensure you have enough outlets to charge all your devices and use any necessary electronics, it's advisable to bring a power strip with extra outlets. Just make sure it's a power strip and not a surge protector, as a surge protector is not allowed on cruise ships. Having a power strip will give you peace of mind and make your life easier while on board.

Motion Sickness Patches

A cruise essential I will never leave without.
Don't let motion sickness ruin your cruise
Motion Sickness Patches

If you're prone to motion sickness, motion sickness patches can be a game-changer during your cruise. These patches are typically worn behind the ear for up to three days and provide relief from nausea and dizziness. It's important to follow the instructions and change them out as directed. Motion sickness can put a damper on your trip, especially if you encounter rough seas or inclement weather. Having these patches on hand can help prevent discomfort and ensure you enjoy your time on the ship.

These five items have proven to be essential for many cruise-goers, including myself. From staying organized in the bathroom to staying comfortable in varying temperatures, these items can greatly enhance your cruise experience. Whether you're a first-time cruiser or a seasoned traveler, don't forget to pack these essentials for your next adventure at sea.
